Yes. Students have a trial period (5 weeks for diploma/degree programs, 2 weeks for Advanced Nurse Aide, 1 week for Basic Nurse Aide). Tuition is not charged if withdrawal occurs within this period.
Students should work with the Business Office immediately. Accounts more than 120 days overdue may be sent to collections.
Yes. Tuition can be paid in full at enrollment or in installments via payment plans arranged with the Business Office.
Yes. Both GI Bill® (Chapter 30 & 33) and MyCAA (spouse education benefit) are supported.
HMC participates in federal aid programs, including Pell Grants, FSEOG, work-study, and federal loans. Scholarships such as Hana Lima and Na Lima Hana are also available.
Yes, VA students must provide transcripts of all prior education and training before enrollment is certified.
Yes, credits from accredited institutions within the last 10 years may be considered (minimum grade B for outside institutions, C for HMC). Up to 50% of program courses can be transferred.
Applicants must be at least 18, complete an application form, and provide proof of high school completion (diploma, transcript, GED, or equivalent). Immunization records (TB, Tdap, Varicella, MMR) are also required. No entrance exam is required.
Hawaii Medical College may accept credits transferred from accredited institutions recognized by the Federal Department of Education. Only courses passed with 3.0 / B or better and taken within the last five (5) years will be considered for other outside educational institutions. Students requesting credit transfers from outside educational institutions are required to submit a completed Transfer of Credit Request Form along with a copy of the syllabus/course description for the applicable courses to the Director of Education.
